First recorded in 1950 by Bing Crosby and Carol Richards, Silver Bells is an iconic Christmas song written by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. One story has it that the bells rung by Salvation Army solicitors on New York city sidewalks were the inspiration for this song. Since its composition the song Silver Bells has, in turn, inspired holiday joy in all who hear it.
