Learn how to play Willie Nelson’s On The Road Again on your 3-string cigar box guitar and 2-string bass with the free tablature in this post.
On The Road Again is one of Willie Nelson’s most recognizable songs. It earned him a Grammy for “Best Country Song” in 1981 and his 9th overall country & western hit. Composed with a “train beat” and an account of life on the road, Nelson wrote the song on an airplane sickness bag. The story has it that while on a flight with the executive movie producer for the film Honeysuckle Rose, the producer asked Nelson to write the movie’s theme song. On The Road Again was written, and the rest is country music history.
Now you can chug along with the train beat, plucking your 3-string cigar box guitar and 2-string bass, while wistfully singing about the freedom of the traveling life with friends. Included in this post are free tabs for 3-string cigar box guitars and 2-string basses, such as the C. B. Gitty G-Bass, both totally free to download.
