Watch this terrific rendition of Hobo’s Lullaby performed by Ben “Gitty” Baker on the Gitty Gang Show, episode #114.

In episode #114 of the Gitty Gang Show, Ben “Gitty” Baker broke out his 6-string Coke Crate guitar to perform the touching old tune Hobo’s Lullaby.

Written by Goebel Reeves and popularized by Woody Guthrie, Emmylou Harris, the Kingston Trio, and others, the song tells the lonesome tale of a hobo’s hard life.

Reeves wrote a touching story, especially considering how close to home it hits with the reality of the hard lives lived by many Americans trying to make their ways through the late 1800s to the mid-1900s.

Ben “Gitty” pays tribute to this tune with his balance of vocal power and sensitivity. And his Coke Crate guitar, strung with nylon strings, has the perfect tone to honor the touching tale.

For accompaniment, Glenn Watt joins Ben on stage with the 2-string G-Bass guitar.
