The Art of the Double-Neck Cigar Box Guitar (Pt. 1)

Way back in 2010, CigarBoxNation.com ran a contest that challenged their members to make the wildest double neck cigar box guitars.  We’re stepping back in time to take a look at some of the standouts and give some inspiration for modern builders. 

The pic above is an entry by “Roosterman” and features a one-string Diddey Bow neck along with a 4 string cigar box guitar neck.  Note the positioning of the upper neck for ease of playing.

The pickups are a matching set, handwound by “Juju” and feature a scatterwound design.  Here’s another angle:

The bridge is actually a modified tremolo bar off a strat, which gives the perfect angle for the diverging necks.
