Gaither and Ben “Gitty” Baker discuss two great tenor guitar tunings for 4-string cigar box guitars: “Arkansas Tenor” (low E, A, D, G) and “Chicago Tenor” (D, G, B, E).

Both tunings allow you to use partial 6-string guitar chords – Ben even shows you how to use 6-string chord forms with them.

Darren Brown’s Resonator Cigar Box Guitar

1Darren Brown of DB Customs Cigar Box Guitars has recently completed this stunning reso.  Not only does the gloss black body make the chrome parts pop, but the entire thing has such a perfect layout.  Brown even used a black P90 pickup and removed the two unused pole pieces.  Brilliant.

Cigar Box Nation member, Henry Delvaric recently completed this wild Whiskey Crate Telecaster with hand-burned edges and www.CBGitty.com parts.  In true Keith Richards fashion, Delvaric opted for a humbucker in the neck position.  Wow…this one is stunning!
