Video: Creating your First Cigar Box Guitar Fretboard

In this video, Glenn Watt walks you through making your first fretboard for a cigar box guitar. Of course you could always buy one of C. B. Gitty’s Pre-made CBG Fretboards, but why not have a go at making your own? You can find most of the supplies you’ll need here.

  1. The saws that we carry have a kerf of .020″.

You could use a coping saw if it falls within that range. Fret Wire typically needs a slot width of .023. Just be sure that you can get a straight and accurate cut.

  2. where can I get a Fretboard template, and whats the cost of fret wire. Just wondering where to get the best deal with the differance in the dollar between Canada and the US Any pricing you can give me would be helpful. Thank you I will try my hand at this craft.
