“The Erin” has a resonator created using a silver serving bowl, a brass candle plate with an inlaid mother of pearl rim and various pieces of lighting and drawer hardware.  The face and back panels are wood panels salvaged from an old desk.  Not a cigar box guitar, but truly magic nonetheless.

4-String Plywood Guitar Made for a Granddaughter

1

Cigar Box Nation member, “BP-Rabid Salad” offered to make a canjo for his granddaughter. She told him she’d rather have a “rock n roll guitar,” so he proceeded to make her this wild 4-stringer.  He says, “Built this with some 3/4 – 8 ply plywood. Covered the top and backside with a veneer. It has a rod piezo sandwiched under the veneer and the strings grounded thru the bridge. Just have to put a pick guard on it to complete it.  So she can plug it in and make a lot of noise… at her house.”
